Dear Devidas Bhavaji,
I am happy to receive appreciating comments from you on the
Bantwal function.
You may have noticed that there was no lottery, no travel expense
reimbursement,
no monetary gifts for artists, and no student prizes this time.
About half of the people who attended were newly attending and they
were not
aware of the changes.
My wife was able to prevent me from spending money on the lottery
etc. I was
helpless because otherwise I would not be able to live with her.
I did not want to bring shame on myself by leaving my home and wife
while my
entire exercise of Adyar Gopal Parivar is about domestic harmony.
The weather was good on both the days which made it all very
pleasant. The Kashi Matha Hall, the food, the entertainment and the
relaxed atmosphere made the
function enjoyable to all.
I am thinking of holding the next meeting at Bangalore in September
2012.
With regards,
Mohan Bhavaji.

Nethravathi married Ganapathy Mallya and
gave birth to six children: Kirshnabai,
Suguna, Suresh, Dinesh, Harish and
Saroja.
Krishnaray married Tulasibai and four
children: Gopinath, Narayan, Anuradha and
Sudha.
There was uncle-nephew relation
developed with the daughter of brother
Krishnaray viz. Divya marrying a son of
sister Nethravathi.
Dinesh and Divya have two children: Disha
and Dhanush.
Divya is a yoga expert and teacher of Yoga.
Adyar Gopal Parivar is proud to have Divya
as a member.
Q: WHO IS DIVYA MALLYA THE YOGA
EXPERT AND TEACHER?
A. The eldest of the
three sisters married
Mijar Madhav Shenoy and had mainly three
sons viz. Shanthappa, Manjunath and
Vasudev.
Vasudev married Bhavani who gave birth to
seven children of who Pinki was the eldest.
Pinki married Baddoor Apparay Prabhu and
gave birth to 2 children: Nethravathi and
Krishnaray.
Videos of Sunday Session 25-09-2011
Hiranki Kini Sammelan
was held along with the
Annual Convention 2011
Adyar Gopal had a strong reason to be fond of
Achuth Mam (as he addressed Ramachandra).
Achuth Mam had given guidance to young
Gopal in business and in lifestyle. All the elders
in the Mijar and Gurpur households of the
family were seeking advice from Achuth Mam
in almost every activity they pursued.
Achuth Mam's mother was a Doddamma
(Mhave) to Yamuna. Yamuna needed support
from this elderly woman because she had been
a widow when she arrived in Mijar with six of
her young children. One daughter of Yamuna,
the eldest Nethravathi had been a child widow
too. Achuth Mam's business was good and he
was lenient in lending money to his close
relatives on low interest.
The three sisters who got married to the three
grooms, one from Bantwal and two from Mijar,
were instrumental in keeping the early
members of Adyar Gopal Parivar close to each
other.
The youngest of them was the wife of Annappa
Kamath of Mijar. The eldest was the wife of
Mijar Madhav Shenoy. The middle one was the
grand mother of Ramachandra Kini. While we
have accounts of children of Mijar Shenoys
and Mijar Kamaths, we have no knowledge of
the brothers of Shanthappa viz. Subraya and
Srinivas. Only Ramachandra was of any
significance to Adyar Gopal Parivar since his
daughter Shaddu (short for Sharada) was
given to Madhav Bhat in marriage. Madhav
Bhat was the elder son of Gowri, one of the
elder sisters of Adyar Gopal.
Manjunath, Padmanabha and Keshav are the
other three male children of Shanthayya Kini.
Hiranki Ramachandra Kini lived in the late
nineteenth century and early twentieth century.
He got broke by marrying off his six daughters.
His son Shanthanand, known as Appa to
everyone, was too young to take on
responsibilities of the house and business
when the last of the daughters got married.
Later Shanthananda married Imalabai and they
got three children.
Just as the senior Kini had only one son, the
junior too got one son only.
Ramray, the grandson of Ramachandra, got
married to Jyothi who has given birth to a baby
in 2008.
Ramray is carrying on the commodity business
of his grand-father Achuth Kini even today in
Bantwal. He inherited the land and building of
his grand-father and demonstrates the same
zeal as his grand-father in managing the shop
at Baddakatte.
Ramray has many antiques in his renovated
house. He has a home-theatre set up in one of
his rooms where invitees can gather to watch
movies and listen to music.
Time may hide our sadness
Smiles may hide our tears
But loving thoughts of yours
Will last throughout the years
Time may pass, but you will
Be remembered by us always.
